Malar Group, the Canada-based strategic investment firm founded and led by Sayan Navaratnam, today announced the appointment of Anthony Primerano as Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, effective immediately.
In this newly created role, Mr. Primerano will lead the firm’s corporate affairs function – overseeing stakeholder engagement, public policy positioning, and government relations strategy across Canada, the United States, and international markets.
The appointment reflects the scale and complexity of the environments in which Malar Group’s portfolio companies now operate. As the firm has expanded across technology, consumer, and enterprise businesses, more of that portfolio operates in markets shaped directly by policy, regulation, and institutional relationships.
Mr. Primerano joins Malar Group from the Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA), where he served as Director of Government Relations.

His mandate at Malar Group will include stewarding the firm’s relationships with its institutional and strategic partners and ensuring alignment between the firm’s commercial priorities and the regulatory environments its companies operate within.
