Twin Home Rodent Control brings its compact radar-equipped Rat Rover to the Lowcountry, sending it under the raised homes where Charleston rodent problems often start.

Plenty of new arrivals land near Charleston International Airport every day, but one of the latest is headed straight for the crawl space. Twin Home Rodent Control has added the Twins Rat Rover to its North Charleston office, giving the team a compact inspection rover built for the cramped spaces under and inside Lowcountry homes.
Many homes around Charleston sit on raised foundations, with vented crawl spaces that stay warm, damp, and sheltered. That makes them a common starting point for rats and mice, which can then travel up through plumbing and duct openings into walls and attics. Those same crawl spaces are often too tight for a technician to search thoroughly.
“This compact inspection rover lets us explore tight spaces humans can’t reach,” said Jim Schuelke, co-owner of Twin Home Experts. “Its radar technology is designed to help detect live rodent activity behind walls and identify potential nesting sites.”
Once the rover helps pinpoint activity in an attic or crawl space, technicians can set traps overnight and retrieve them the next morning. It works alongside the company’s camera monitoring and its practice of sealing crawl space and roofline entry points before trapping begins. The twins plan to share what the rover turns up on their Twin Home Experts YouTube channel, where more than 600,000 subscribers follow their rodent jobs.
Homeowners from downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant, James Island, and the beach communities who are hearing scratching under the floor or overhead can learn more about rodent control in Charleston from the Twin Home team.
